BLACKPINK is making history once again as the legendary K-pop girl group prepares to drop their highly anticipated mini album DEADLINE on February 27 at 2:00 PM KST. To celebrate the occasion, the group has partnered with the National Museum of Korea in Seoul for an unprecedented collaboration, marking the first time a K-pop artist has ever joined forces with the prestigious cultural institution.

A Night of Pink at the National Museum

On the evening of February 26, the iconic museum in Yongsan-gu, Seoul was transformed into a breathtaking spectacle as its exterior was bathed in BLACKPINK's signature pink lighting. Inside, a massive carpet emblazoned with the phrase "BLACKPINK WILL MAKE YOU" guided visitors through the main lobby, known as the History Road, leading them to a pre-listening session set against the digitally restored Gwanggaeto Stele.

Approximately 300 lucky fans, selected through advance registration, attended the exclusive event across six sessions of 50 attendees each. The 30-minute sessions featured all five tracks from the upcoming album, beginning with the previously released single "JUMP" and followed by the title track "GO," along with "Me and My," "Champion," and "Fxxxboy."

Three Years and Five Months in the Making

The comeback marks BLACKPINK's first full-group album release since their second studio album Born Pink in September 2022, making this a momentous return after a gap of three years and five months. The anticipation among fans has been palpable, with one attendee at the pre-listening event sharing her emotions before entering the venue.

"I am so happy to be able to hear the precious songs from our unnies first. I feel like I could cry from happiness, and I hope the members are happy too," the fan expressed, capturing the overwhelming excitement shared by BLINKs worldwide.

Members Bring Korean Heritage to Life

Beyond the music, the collaboration features a unique cultural element. Each BLACKPINK member has contributed to audio docent programs for eight national treasure-level artifacts displayed throughout the museum. Jisoo and Jennie recorded their narrations in Korean, Rosé provided an English version, and Lisa recorded in Thai, reflecting the group's global reach and multicultural identity.

The featured artifacts include some of Korea's most treasured cultural assets, such as the Gilt-bronze Pensive Bodhisattva, the Ten-story Stone Pagoda from Gyeongcheonsa Temple, and the Celadon Prunus Vase with Silver Inlay. Limited-edition postcards featuring member photos alongside the artifacts will also be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pink Lighting Illuminates Seoul

The museum's exterior pink lighting installation will continue through March 8, operating daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, creating a stunning visual landmark for fans visiting the area. The broader "National Museum of Korea X BLACKPINK" project runs from February 27 through March 8, with a public listening zone available in the lobby for all museum visitors.

A representative from YG Entertainment noted that the collaboration aims to transcend music alone. "BLACKPINK has received tremendous love from fans worldwide through their music. Through this partnership, we hope they can connect with people around the world through Korea's unique cultural heritage as well," the representative stated.

With the title track "GO" and its accompanying music video set to drop alongside the full album on February 27, BLACKPINK appears poised to once again dominate global charts while simultaneously bridging the worlds of K-pop and Korean cultural heritage in a way no artist has done before.
